Summer Science 2006 Set to Go

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

Congratulations to the successful applicants for this summer’s camp! Twelve students will spend three weeks exploring Nash Harbor on Nunivak Island while earning six college credits. Lead instructor and nationally-known anthropologist Dr. Rick Knecht will teach Natural History of Alaska with an emphasis on human ecology, while videographer and traditional boat builder Skip Snaith teaches the students how to record and publish what they learn and experience.

Check out the following link to Skip Snaith’s qayaq-building website which features video clips from last year’s Summer Science Camp: http://www.rockisland.com/~kyak/
