The ability to customize the interface and/or functions of the application to suit one’s personal preferences and work style.

Discussion

Discussion board customization is usually limited to a signature, a picture/avatar, and perhaps a color scheme in addition to some control of display and reading. Blogs typically offer a more personalized space. Wikis even moreso, though one’s ability to customize their own area might be limited and wikis are notoriously technically difficult to modify.
