Participate in Classes

Participate in Your Classes

To participate in the group activities of your classes, your syllabus may direct you to:

  1. Use email to message your instructor and other students in the class
  2. Download players and computer applications to access course materials
  3. Use your CMS to do assignments, assessments, and post discussion comments
  4. Use eLive to speak,write or draw on the board, message, and do various learning activities over the Internet.

For additional help in participating in the group activities of your classes, please contact your instructor via the contact information provided in your syllabus.

  • UAF (Note: use Claiming Form if you are entirely new to UAF email. Otherwise, use Lookup Form)
  • UAA

Players

Please refer to your syllabus or instructions in your CMS as to what players you will need to access your course materials, such as documents, files, and media. UAA has a user friendly site for downloading various players for flash, quicktime, and adobe pdf files at: http://distanceeducation.uaa.alaska.edu/requirements/

Other places to look for players and helper applications: For UAF Try looking in the Downloads/Applications and Tools in the upper left.

CMS Based Activities

Again, refer to your syllabus or instructions within your CMS for how to complete assignments, submit assessments, and contribute postings to discussion boards.
