Replace all ball mice with Optical mice
What do you think when you come into one of these classrooms start up the computer. Find out it is running Vista and has Office 2007 and then you look at the mouse? Mice are really cheap; I propose to replace all the mice on the second floor with optical mice.
This would save on future man hours on having someone cleaning the ball mice, this actually takes some time. I know you have to clean the optical mice, but it just takes a second with a shot from an air can. It takes about 5 minutes to clean a ball mouse; have to take the mouse apart and clean all parts with alcohol, cotton swabs, and lots of can air.
Man hours spent on ball mice only (no other cleaning)
Ball mice is old school; for only $10 each we can have optical mice and to clean them all we would need is can air.

Cost: $9.99 each for a total of = $799.20 + $50.44 (shipping) = $849.64 total
Man hours: 20 hours @ $9.50 (including cleaning mouse pads) = $190.00 total
Total cost and man hours: $849.64 + $190.00 = $1039.64
Benefits of replacing the mice with optical mice on the second floor of the Downtown Center
It just make sense to replace the mice with optical it is cheap and it makes UAF more attractive for future students.
